PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To by no means increase the number of commands to be fed to a display control means from a game control means while enriching display performance in a game machine which has a variable display part to variably display special patterns and decoration patterns. SOLUTION: When loss occurs, a loss pattern is displayed in a special pattern display area 9A and defining patterns are displayed in a decoration pattern display area 9B showing none of them matching each other between the left, right and middle positions. When the jackpot occurs, a win pattern is displayed in the special pattern display area 9A and the defining patterns are displayed in the decoration pattern display area 9B showing all of them matching each other between the left, right and middle positions. A variable display pattern and information for indicating win or loss are fed to the display control means from the game control means. Commands to the display control means from the game control means are transmitted through an irreversible output means on the game control board and an irreversible input means on the display control board.
