The arrangement has water collection devices (14) arranged below a press nip (11) and comprising a container, which collects water. The container comprises a head (16), which is pointed to the press nip, and a water collection element (17) that lies at linings (12, 13) and is arranged at the head of the container. The arrangement comprises a unit e.g. loading element (18), for active regulation of contact between the water collection devices and the lining with a fibrous web machine. The water collection element consists of a ridge equipped with the loading element. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a press section of a fibrous web machine.
