<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial bone whose shape can be changed comparatively freely during filling procedure and which hardly breaks even when the bone is bent, and also to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The artificial bone 1 has a shape of a string or fabric and is formed by knitting or weaving a plurality of threads of a calcium phosphate/collagen composite material 2 each having a diameter of almost 10 μm to 1 mm. By forming the calcium phosphate/collagen composite material 2 into a thread having a diameter of almost 10 μm to 1 mm, the curvature radii of the inside and the outside of the thread do not differ greatly even when the thread is bent thereby keeping strain generated within a cross section small and allowing to bend the thread without fracturing. By knitting or weaving such threads of calcium phosphate/collagen composite material 2, a three-dimensional or flat artificial bone 1 is produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
