<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of treating an asbestos-containing waste material which can make an asbestos-containing waste material sufficiently harmless in a short time and make a waste liquor after treatment available as a raw material for cement in effectively recycling the waste liquor. <P>SOLUTION: The asbestos-containing waste material is treated with a mineral acid solution, and the asbestos contained in the waste material made harmless by adding a chemical compound solution containing fluorine.
