PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relief printing original plate for laser engraving which is highly sensitively engraved by laser exposure, and is excellent in rinsing property of engraving residue produced by laser engraving. SOLUTION: The relief printing original plate for laser engraving is provided with a relief forming layer prepared by thermally crosslinking a resin composition for laser engraving containing: a compound (A) containing at least two dibasic acid anhydride portions in a molecule; and a binder polymer (B) having reactive groups capable of combining with the dibasic acid anhydride portions included in the compound (A) containing at least two dibasic acid anhydride portions in the molecule.
