PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which, even if a power source is turned off during density adjustment, is capable of satisfactorily recycling thereafter. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a control device that executes: a density detecting operation in which when an adjustment container liquid quantity sensor CE detects that a liquid in a density adjustment container 310 reaches a predetermined quantity, density in the density adjustment container 310 is detected by a density sensor (such as a torque sensor FE); a density adjustment operation in which an adjustment is made based on the detected density so that the inside of the density adjustment container 310 has a predetermined density; and a supply operation in which liquid developer DL with the predetermined density, obtained by the adjustment, is fed to a storage section (such as a temporary storage tank 340). When a power source is turned on and if a determination is made based on a signal from the adjustment container liquid quantity sensor CE that the quantity of liquid in the density adjustment container 310 is equal to or larger than the predetermined quantity, the control device controls a saving liquid conveying means (saving pump P7), thereby saving the liquid developer DL in the density adjustment container 310 to a saving section (saving tank 360).
