The camera (10) has an optical unit comprising a lens i.e. fluid lens (42), provided with controllable focal width. An image converter i.e. charge coupled device-chip (44), is arranged in a housing (12) in a fixed manner. The lens is connected with a control unit (50), which is subjected with a focusing signal and provides a control signal for the lens dependent upon the focusing signal. The unit comprises an object sided lens arrangement (34), a middle lens arrangement (36) and an image sided lens arrangement (38). LEDs (18) are arranged in a boundary area of a glass plate (16).
