The device has a stop element (10) i.e. axial stop element, provided for two adjustable cam support elements (11, 12), and a sensor element (13) i.e. sensor wheel. The sensor element determines a phase angle formed between the cam support elements. The stop element and the sensor element are partially and integrally implemented. The stop element and/or the sensor element is axially arranged adjacent to one of the cam support elements (11). The cam support elements are adjustable at a support shaft (15). An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a valve driving device.
