摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting device for an image reading device for improving lighting efficiency over the gamut of a document width to raise a lighting intensity of the document surface and further to minimize a variation in lighting intensity due to a fluctuation of the position of the document. <P>SOLUTION: This lighting means for irradiating light to a document in the image reading device includes a light source element acting as a light source and a light guide body for guiding light of the light source element to the document width. The light source element is arranged at an end surface in the longitudinal direction of the light guide body. A reflector is arranged to face a lot of triangular wave-like photorefractive/reflective surfaces provided to one side surface of the light guide body while facing a light-emitting surface in the document direction of the light guide body.
