<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase output of a fuel cell by allowing a large electric current to flow on the fuel cell before operation, without using a power source different from the fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system is composed of a fuel cell 10 which generates an electric power by circulating a hydrogen-containing gas and an oxygen-containing gas to an anode 12 and a cathode 13 of a solid oxide cell, respectively, a short-circuiting circuit 30 for short-circuiting the cathode 13 and the anodes 12; and an on-off switch 31 for turning on and off the short-circuiting circuit 30. The fuel cell system further includes a short-circuit circuit execution means 40a which short-circuits the cathode 13 and the anodes 12 by turning off the on-off switch 31 before connecting the fuel cell 10 to an external load 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
