METHOD OF MANUFACTURING LUBRICATION BASE OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a lubrication base oil capable of making both viscosity/temperature characteristics and low-temperature viscosity characteristics at a high level.

SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a lubrication base oil, the lubricating base oil is prepared via: a first step in which isomerization is carried out; a second step in which a lubricant fraction containing hydrocarbon having not less than 20 carbon number is separated from the reaction product of the first step; and a third step in which the lubricant fraction obtained in the second step are separated into dewaxed oil and wax by solvent dewaxing treatment. Thus, the content of normal paraffin having not less than 20 carbon number will be 6-20 mass% based on the total mass of hydrocarbon having not less than 20 carbon number contained in the obtained reaction product, for a feed oil containing normal paraffin having not less than 20 carbon number.
