PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly and readily select an image. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an imaging apparatus 100 provided with a face detection unit 6, that detects human faces from a plurality of image frames produced by continuously imaging a subject; an eye detection unit 7 that detects eyes from the human faces detected by the face detection unit; a blink detection unit 9, that calculates the blink evaluation value of each of the eyes detected by the eye detection unit; and an image specifying unit 11, that evaluates statuses of the human faces based on the blink evaluation value calculated by the blink detection unit and specifies one of the captured images to be recorded on a recording medium from among the plurality of image frames.
