PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of firmly preventing information leakage, even when wirelessly transmitting and receiving data. SOLUTION: The communication system includes: a communication BOX 10 connected to a public telephone network; a multifunctional machine 30 capable of wireless communication with the communication BOX by a wireless LAN specification; and a cordless telephone set 50 capable of wireless communication with the communication BOX by a unique protocol. When receiving facsimile data from an external facsimile device via the public telephone network, the communication BOX encrypts the facsimile data, and transmits the encrypted date to the multifunctional machine by a wireless LAN. The communication BOX transmits a decryption key to the cordless telephone set by the unique protocol. The cordless telephone set displays and outputs the decryption key received from the communication BOX. The displayed and output decryption key is input to the multifunctional machine by manual input of a user.
