PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve detecting accuracy in an obstacle detecting device by arranging a means for connecting a radio wave transmitting means for transmitting a radio wave to one leakage coaxial cable and a radio wave receiving means for receiving the radio wave incident with the other leakage coaxial cable. SOLUTION: This obstacle detecting system includes the leakage coaxial cables 101 and 102 laid on both sides of an obstacle monitoring area and an obstacle detecting device for detecting an obstacle in the obstacle monitoring area based on the radio wave incident on the other leakage coaxial cable by radiating the radio wave toward the other leakage coaxial cable from one leakage coaxial cable among the leakage coaxial cables laid on both sides, and includes the means 110 for connecting the radio wave transmitting means 104 for transmitting the radio wave to one leakage coaxial cable in the obstacle detecting device and the radio weave receiving means 107 for receiving the radio wave incident with the other leakage coaxial cable in the obstacle detecting device.
