PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die and a method of manufacturing a container, by which the container is formed with high precision, simply and at a low cost by performing three stages of blanking of a slag, smoothing of a fractured surface and impact forming by one shot of a punch in the working when manufacturing the container. SOLUTION: The die with which the slag is blanked from a metallic material, the fractured surface of the blanked slag is smoothed and the impact forming of the container is performed, includes: an upper die provided with the punch for performing the impact forming by blanking the slag 22 by the impact of descent and smoothing this surface; and a lower die which is composed of a slag blanking die 17 for performing the blanking, a movable die for performing ironing for smoothing and an impact die 19 for performing the impact forming of the ironed slag 22. The slag blanking die 17, the movable ironing die 18 and the impact die 19 are arranged in one row coaxially with the descending axis of the punch 16 and in the working order.
