PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving signal generator in which a central frequency of an attenuation range of a notch filter is quickly decided when a driving signal of an optical scanning element is generated by using the notch filter, and to provide an optical scanner and an image display which are equipped with the driving signal generator. SOLUTION: The driving signal generator includes: a driving processing part 10 which varies the amplitude of a driving signal S1, outputs from a driving signal generation part 16 and varies the rocking amplitude of a reflection mirror 5a; a ringing detection part 14 which detects the amplitude of the ringing due to the natural resonance of an optical scanning element 5 when the reflection mirror 5a is rocked while varying its amplitude by the driving processing part 10; and a filter characteristic adjustment part 13 which adjusts the central frequency of the attenuation region of the notch filter 12a according to the amplitude of the ringing detected by the ringing detection part 14.
