PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film desirable to use as a film in optical applications and having excellent characteristics to carry out precise inspections in the crossed Nicol method inspection, for example, when used as a release film for manufacturing a polarizer plate. SOLUTION: This is a biaxially oriented laminated optical polyester film containing 0.10 to 1.0 wt.% of aluminum oxide particles 0.01-1.0μm in average particle size with its film haze of 7-18% and its orientation angle of 15°or less, and satisfying formula 2≤ΔP/Δn≤7.
