PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for releasing a gas, which is contained in a specimen extracted from a living body, with emission efficiency further improved. SOLUTION: The method for releasing a gas includes the steps of (a first step) adding a first reagent containing a protein denaturation substance inhibiting the gas combination of hem protein in a vial container as a sealed container with a specimen encapsulated (S12), and (a second step) adding a second reagent containing a cyanide ion in the sealed container after ending the first step and then elapsing a predetermined time (S13).
