PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gear shift device for securely executing gear shift without continuing gear shift operation input if a required level of gear shift operation is input and thus, of improving operability and facilitating synchronization of an upstream side and a downstream side of a lost motion mechanism by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the gear shift device, an upstream side latch arm 71 for locking an upstream side rotating member 51 of the lost motion mechanism 50 and a downstream side latch arm 81 for locking a downstream side rotating member 61 are integrally formed so as to include a common oscillation center base end 75. By releasing the lock of the downstream side rotating member 61 by the downstream side latch arm 81 in cooperation with an operation to lock and hold the rotating position of the upstream side rotating member 51 by the upstream side latch arm 71, a shift drum 21 is rotated to perform gear shift.
