PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag capable of making both compatible in a high dimension in reduction in dangerousness to an occupant and occupant protective performance by the airbag for the occupant of various physical constitutions. SOLUTION: A vertically extending recessed part 21b is arranged at the center of a shock absorbing surface 21a of an airbag body 21 inflating to a front seat occupant under the windshield 7. Thus, the occupant can be precisely protected without damaging a neck of the occupant 50 wearing a seat belt in a normal sitting position. In addition, a swelling part 21c swelling just under the windshield 7 in an upper part of the recessed part 21b, is arranged in the airbag body 21.
