PURPOSE: A device and a method for recovering NMP from waste liquid are provided to simplify the processes thereof and easily operate the device by operating the opening and closing of each valve step by step. CONSTITUTION: A device for recovering NMP from waste liquid comprises a heat exchanger(61), a first evaporator(30), an NMP concentration unit and a collection unit. The heat exchanger pre-heats NMP waste liquid through a first connection pipeline, and the first evaporator evaporates the steam from the pre-heated waste liquid and discharges the stream. The NMP concentration unit receives the waste liquid which is not evaporated in the first evaporator, circulates the stream through the first evaporator, and concentrates the waste liquid until the NMP reaches the predetermined concentration. The collection unit collects the NMP from the stream discharged from the NMP concentration unit.
