PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record data of content from a point of time for obtaining a recording instruction on an optical disk without providing various restrictions. SOLUTION: The recording device is a recording device for recording data on a detachable optical disk. The recording device includes a storing part for storing data, and a drive control part for controlling to record certain content on the optical disk upon obtaining an instruction to record the content on the optical disk. The drive control part stores data of the content into the storing part before being able to record on the optical disk (S10 to S14), records the remaining data of the content on the optical disk after being able to record on the optical disk (S15 and S16), and controls to record the data of the content stored in the storing part on the optical disk after completing the recording (S17).
