<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material which can solve such the problem that sodium perborate clogs a pipe and that hydrogen production amount is insufficient due to limit of solubility of sodium borohydride in water, in a method of transporting a sodium borohydride solution to a catalyst bed and taking out produced sodium perborate after hydrogen desorption. <P>SOLUTION: A solid hydrogen fuel in form of a solid block includes at least hydride power well-mixed with a solid catalyst. A method for producing the solid hydrogen fuel comprises a process of sufficiently mixing the hydride powder with the solid catalyst and a process of compressing the mixed powder to form the solid block. When in use, the solid hydrogen fuel is mixed with water to generate gaseous hydrogen, wherein the hydride powder is catalyzed by the solid catalyst and reacts with water to generate gaseous hydrogen.
