PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tire tread, which improves dry grip performance from an early stage of traveling, is excellent in durability of the dry grip performance, and improves blowout resistance. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is prepared by blending 10-150 pts.wt. styrene-butadiene copolymer having a weight average molecular weight of 2,000 to 20,000 and 1-10 pts.wt. cyclic polysulfide represented by formula (I), and 100 pts.wt. diene rubber [wherein R is a 2-20C substituted or unsubstituted alkylene group, a 2-20C substituted or unsubstituted oxyalkylene group, or an aromatic ring-containing alkylene group; x is a number of 2-6 on average; and n is an integer of 1-20].
