Disclosed is a welding control method for controlling the welding of a material to be welded by alternately repeating the short period during which the welding wire is shorted to the material to be welded and the arc period during which arc is generated and arc discharge takes place, wherein the average output voltage, which is the average welding voltage calculated during welding, is compared with a preset voltage, the amount of the wire to be melted is adjusted upon occurrence of a disturbance such as elongation or shortening of the arc length by controlling the welding output current at the time of generation of the arc based on the comparison results of the average output voltage and the preset voltage, and thus the arc length is adjusted to bring the short period close to a constant period. |
