<p>Provided are an external environment recognition device for a vehicle and a vehicle system which achieve not only ensuring the safety but also reducing the processing load. An external environment recognition device (100) for a vehicle comprises a first collision determination means (103) for calculating, on the basis of a predicted course of the vehicle and information relating to detected objects in front of the vehicle, the danger levels at which the vehicle collides with the detected objects, and a second collision determination means (104) for determining whether the detected objects go into the predicted course from outside the predicted course or not. The device further comprises an object selection means (105) for selecting, as selection candidate objects, detected objects the danger levels of which are greater than or equal to a first threshold value and detected objects determined to go into the predicted course from among a plurality of detected objects, and from among the selected plurality of selection candidate objects, selecting, as a pedestrian determination request object, a selection candidate object having the smallest relative distance to the vehicle. The device further comprises a pedestrian determination means (106) for determining using image information whether the selected pedestrian determination request object is a pedestrian or not.</p> |
