<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinked sulfonated polyimide having excellent ion exchange capacity and proton conductivity, and improved dimensional change during water absorption, water resistance, methanol permeability etc., as compared with those of a conventional sulfonated polyimide, and suitably usable as a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel cells, gas sensors, ion exchange resins, etc. <P>SOLUTION: The crosslinked sulfonated polyimide is obtained by crosslinking an acid-terminated sulfonated polyimide having a repeating unit represented by chemical formula (1) [wherein, Ar<SP>1</SP>and Ar<SP>4</SP>are each a tetravalent group of aromatic rings; Ar<SP>2</SP>is a bivalent group of aromatic rings having sulfonic acid or derivative of the sulfonic acid; Ar<SP>5</SP>is a bivalent group of aromatic rings free from sulfonic acid or derivative of the sulfonic acid; 1 is an integer of ≥1; and m is 0 or an integer of ≥1], and both terminals comprising an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid component residue with a tri- or multi-functional aromatic amine compound. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
