<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device and program which enable even a user used to operation, or even a person handling it for the first time to attain ease of operation. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile phone 1 lists icon images symbolizing various functions on a display unit 20 based on a main menu setting table 701. When a predetermined time elapses from the listing, until a next instruction is input from a cursor switch 303, the mobile phone displays a name for every icon image, which is stored in the main menu setting table 701 in a translucent state, while being superimposed on the icon images.
