<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealed honeycomb structure which takes a desired end part shape according to an objective and an application, which possesses sufficient strength, in which deterioration of a cleaning performance and regeneration limit originated in shape-processing is suppressed and which is excellent in a raw material yield and a cost, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The sealed honeycomb structure 20 for a diesel particulate filter possesses a plurality of cells 5 which are the flow passages of a fluid and divided by partition walls 6, and are sealed on one sides of flow end surfaces where the one sides are opposite from each other with respect to adjacent cells 5, and the structure 20 furthermore has a notch 2 in one of the inflow end side of the fluid, wherein the sealed parts 25 formed on the inflow opening side surface 11 of the predetermined cells 5a consisting of the notch 2 are deep sealed parts 23 deeper in an average depth than the seal parts 25 formed on the inflow opening side surface 11 of the residual cells 5b. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
