<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for complementing, based on three-dimensional volume data, unclear image sensing region in an imaging tomographic image. <P>SOLUTION: An image generation section 130 acquires the image of the tomographic surface corresponding to the tomographic image of a subject, which an ultrasonic probe 195 images from the three-dimensional volume data, based on position posture information on the ultrasonic probe 195. An image composition section 140 forms and outputs a synthesized image in which the image of the tomographic surface and the tomographic image are synthesized. In the synthesis, the tomographic image and the image of the tomographic surface are synthesized by specifying an area as an unclear image sensing region in the tomographic image and replacing an image within the unclear image sensing region by an image within an area corresponding to the unclear image sensing region in the image of tomographic surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
