SERVER CLIENT SYSTEM, SERVER, TERMINAL, CONTROL METHOD, AND PROGRAM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server client system, a server, a terminal, a control method, and a program which enables a thin client to smoothly display.

SOLUTION: The server client system includes the server and the terminal. The server includes: a measurement part for measuring the line speed of a network; an output range calculation part for calculating an output area in which an image transmitted to a terminal side in a band corresponding to the line speed can be displayed; an output range generation part which generates an area in which an image designated on the basis of information on a designated display area from the terminal is compressed preferentially; an image compression part which compresses the image on the basis of the area; and a server-side transmission part which transmits the compressed image to the terminal. The terminal includes: an output range designation part in which the display area which should be displayed preferentially is designated by a user; a terminal-side transmission part which transmits the information on the designated display area to a server-side reception part; a reception part which receives an image including the compressed image from the server; and an image extension part which extends and outputs the image received by the reception part.
