PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method of consumable electrode AC pulse arc welding in which a stable welding condition is maintained even if an electrode negative polarity current ratio is set at a large value. SOLUTION: The welding is performed by conducting an electrode negative polarity base current Ibn smaller than a critical value during the electrode negative polarity base period Tbn, successively conducting an electrode negative polarity peak current Ipn equal to or larger than the critical value during the electrode negative polarity peak period Tpn, further successively conducting an electrode positive polarity peak current Ip equal to or greater than the critical value during the electrode positive polarity peak period Tb, and still successively conducting an electrode positive polarity base current Ib smaller than the critical value during the electrode positive polarity base period Tb, with such conduction repeated as one cycle. By setting the electrode negative polarity peak period Tpn and the electrode positive polarity peak period Tp, one pulse one droplet transfer state can be maintained even when the electrode negative polarity current ratio is set at a large value, with a stable welding condition maintained.
