PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultra high-speed turbo decoder which accelerates MAP processing itself that becomes the base of iterative processing. SOLUTION: A turbo decoder includes component decoders 1, 2. The component decoders 1, 2 is provided with: first to M-th register stages 31 each including a plurality of registers corresponding to a state of a convolving signal sequence and configured to store differential metrics in the registers; and first to (M-1)th inter-stage switch circuits 32 connected to outputs of the first to (M-1)th register stages 31, respectively. An i-th inter-stage switch circuit 32-i is configured to supply to an (i+1)th register stage 31-(i+1) a differential metric generated by performing exchange processing, corresponding to a plurality of times of state transitions in the convolving signal sequence, on the differential metric stored in the i-th register stage 31-i.
