If the contents of memory reach AB, a CPU for display control of the display control board sets a character A to make it appear on a variable display device (S734a). Thereafter, if one more ball is cast into the passage gate to make the contents of memory reach ABB, the CPU for display control alters the character to set a character B (S736a).
