A playback apparatus having a plurality of program content recording destinations, wherein program content is easily selected. A recording management server (11) links together program IDs, the recording statuses of the program contents in a television apparatus (10), and recording destination information indicating which server each program content is recorded in, and manages that as program management information. The television apparatus (10) displays an electronic program guide (100) in which past and future programs are displayed together, and displays recording completion marks (RM) for the programs recorded in a user content server (13). The television apparatus (10), if a play instruction for program content has been made at the electronic program guide (100), receives the program content from the server instructed from the recording management server (11) and plays the streaming content. Due to this, the television apparatus (10) can record and play content desired by the user, by means of the electronic program guide (100), without the user having to designate the program content recording destination. |
