METHOD AND SYSTEM OF DRY PROCESSING OF CONVERTER SLAG IN COPPER SMELTING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method by which slag discharged from a converter in copper smelting is transformed into a raw material for iron making.

SOLUTION: In the method for continuously processing converter slag produced in a copper smelting process, the slag flowed in a receiving trough 1 in a molten state is introduced in a holding furnace 2 where feeding amount of the slag into a reducing furnace 4 is adjusted. In the reducing furnace, zinc and copper contained in the slag is reduced by heating and magnetite is reduced to FeO. Reduced zinc is removed through volatilization from a slag phase and is discharged from a chimney 6. The slag containing the reduced copper is introduced from the reducing furnace into a settling furnace 9 and is subjected to precipitation separation. The slag after processing is utilized as the raw material for iron making.
