PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of automatic transmission which makes a speed change shock worsen at the time of speed change when the automatic transmission fails. SOLUTION: This control device performs fail safe control (S101) when a failure occurs in the automatic transmission equipped with a plurality of gear stages (S100). Furthermore, this device outputs a speed change command (S102) so as to make speed change by supplying a hydraulic pressure to a fastening-side clutch based on a fastening-side compensating command pressure obtained by adding a fastening-side hydraulic pressure compensating amount to a fastening side command pressure when speed change is made during fail-safe control if an acceleration G is determined to be smaller than a predetermined acceleration Gk during fail-safe control (S105).
