PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone line local area network system that realizes data transmission using a telephone line while reducing space occupied by a master unit. SOLUTION: In a telephone line local area network system, a splitter 9 for a slave unit is provided at the terminal end of each of telephone lines 8 extended from a distribution board 3, and a slave unit 10 is connected to each splitter. At the proximal end of the telephone lines 8, a splitter 5 for a master unit is provided that injects a common data signal to the plurality of telephone lines 8 and extracts a data signal from each telephone line 8. A master unit 7 is connected to the splitter 5 for a master unit and performs transmission and reception by a multiplexing method such as a time division multiplexing method.
