PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control propriety of using a content reproduction function of a reproducing device itself, by using a rewritable recording medium equipped with a copyright protection function. SOLUTION: A reproducing device 101 is detachable of an SD memory card 103, and reproduces the stored content. A control section 1 determines whether reproduction permitting conditions about a content file 214 and the reproducing device 101 are reproducible by using Content Usage Rule information 216 and Device Usage Rule information 218 which are stored in the SD memory card 103. The control section 1, when determining that both reproductions permitting conditions are reproducible, transmits the content file 214 to a decoding section 6, and performs reproduction.
