<p>The device (10) has two support arms (12, 14) moveable relative to each other. A surgical restraining element (16, 18) is provided for restraining bones or body tissue. A support arm positioning mechanism (116) is provided for moving and changing position of the support arms relative to each other. The support arm positioning mechanism comprises a coarse adjustment mechanism (76) i.e. coarse drive mechanism, and a fine adjustment mechanism (114) i.e. fine toothed rod drive, which is provided for changing a position of the arms relative to each other in a mutual independent manner.</p> |
