[Class 137] To ventilate a building, the roof is formed of high span or saw-tooth sections a provided with top-hung pivotal sashes or with lanterns 1 having top hung pivotal sashes 3, and intervening lower roof sections b provided with lanterns 2 having top-hung pivotal sashes 4, with or without top-hung pivotal sashes 7 disposed along the outer walls 8 of the building, so that when the sashes are opened cold air enters through the sashes 4 or 7 and the displaced hot air passes out through the sashes 3. The pivotal sashes 3, 4 and 7 may be arranged to overlay stationary panels at their ends to prevent rain entering when the sashes are open.
