The present invention relates to a laser scanning microscope and a scanner drive device that can accurately and continuously scan a plurality of scanning areas, and also can decrease a delay in processing time due to switching of the scanning areas. A drive table creation unit creates an interpolating drive table that specifies a scanning path P1 between a scanning area A1 and a scanning area A2, and a scanning path P2 between the scanning area A2 and a scanning area A3, and stores the interpolating drive table in the memory. A drive control unit controls the operation of a scanner drive system so that the scanner moves between the scanning areas along the scanning paths P1 and P2 based on the interpolating drive table. The present invention can be applied to a confocal laser scanning microscope, for example.
