<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new polynucleotide which can be used for detecting PCE (tetrachloroethylene) degradation-related bacteria. <P>SOLUTION: This polynucleotide is one of polynucleotides which are originated from the 16S to 23S internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions of 17 kinds of anaerobic PCE degradation-related bacteria, are specific to 17 kinds of the bacteria, and are originated from the specific base sequences, respectively.
