PURPOSE: A vacuum cleaner is provided to enable a user to confirm the cleaning progress state in detail by differently generating the tones and intensity of sound depending on the amount of dusts. CONSTITUTION: A vacuum cleaner comprises a body unit, a nozzle assembly body, an air path, a dust detecting sensor, a sound generating unit(50) and a control unit. The nozzle assembly body is connected to the body unit, and the air path is formed at the body unit and the nozzle assembly. The dust detecting sensor detects the amount of the dusts flowing through the air path. The sound generating unit outputs sound by generating flow velocity, and the control unit controls the sound generating unit according to the sound outputted from the dust detecting sensor.
