A pumping system (100) is interactively connected to a rotary drive unit (6) by gearing (5) that comprises a driving gear (9) and a driven gear (4) and to a pump unit (1). The rotary drive unit has only one shaft end, with which the driving gear is turningly connected. The driving gear has a clutch, with which a turning connection between the drive gear and the shaft end is alternatively producible, with the shaft end is connected.
