<p>A honeycomb filter (1) includes a catalyst-carrying article where a plurality of honeycomb segments (2) each is provided with a sell structure having a plurality of cells (5) separated and formed by porous partition walls (6) and an outer wall disposed in the outer periphery of the cell structure constitute a bonded article obtained by bonding the plurality of honeycomb segments at the outer wall and where a catalyst is loaded on the partition walls of a periphery-ground article obtained by grinding an outer peripheral portion of the bonded article, and
an outer peripheral coat layer (4) disposed on an outer peripheral face (10) of the catalyst carrying article;
wherein an amount of the catalyst loaded in the outer peripheral coat layer (4) at a position 50 µm or more apart from a boundary face between the catalyst-carrying article and the outer peripheral coat layer (4) is 5 mass% or less when a measurement piece having a cross section where a boundary portion between the catalyst-carrying article and the outer peripheral coat layer can be observed and being obtained by embedding a resin in the boundary portion in the cross section is measured by an energy dispersive fluorescent X-ray analysis using a scanning electron microscope.</p> |
