PURPOSE: A catalyst for preparing high 1,4-trans polybutadiene is provided to control the molecule weight of the catalyst by adjusting the content of a phosphorous-based compound. CONSTITUTION: A catalyst for preparing high 1,4-trans polybutadiene contains a cobalt compound, an organoaluminium compound, a phenolic compound, and a phosphorous-based compound. The cobalt compound is cobalt salt formed with organic acid or inorganic acid. The organoaluminium compound contains alkyl with 1~8 carbons, or 1~33 halogens.
