PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for offering access into the body cavity are provided, which form a route to the body cavity through tissue. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for offering access into the body cavity comprises: a proximity outer portion; a distal portion which is located within the tissue of the body and is equipped with a flexible retractor forming a route into the body cavity through the tissue; and an operation member(260) which is spirally formed in the fringe perimeter of the retractor and selectively changes the diameter of the retractor. The first end(260a) of the operation member is attached to the distal end of the retractor. The second end portion(260b) of the operation member is expanded through the proximity outer portion.
