METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING A MIMO (MULTIPLE INPUT MULTIPLE OUTPUT) CODEBOOK

PURPOSE: A MIMO codebook generation method and an apparatus thereof reducing the memory space of a mobile station are provided to implement a codebook design by using a specific codebook entry as the codebook of a MIMO system. CONSTITUTION: A codebook includes entries from rank 1 to rank 4. Each rank indicates a spatial multiplexing order. The entries about rank 8 is composed at rank 1 of two basic matrix for MIMO codebook by the use of the entries inside the rank 1 of the codebook in the MIMO system. A codebook generating apparatus transmits feedback indicating an entry index of the MIMO elementary codebook to the base station.
