<p>The present invention relates to methods for the prevention of, delay progression to or treatment of hypertension in obese patients, comprising administering to a warm-blooded animal a therapeutically effective amount of a renin inhibitor such as aliskiren or a pharmaceurically acceptable salt. The renin inhibitor may be used alone or in combinarion with another antihypertensive agent, in particular a diuretic such as hydrochlorothiazide.</p> |
